We invite you to become a member of The Wash House (formerly Portobello Community Centre)
What does becoming a member mean?
As a newly formed SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) The Wash House is currently building its membership. Joining as a member is a great way to show your support for your local community centre - and no strings attached! You will be kept informed a few times a year via email about public events and activities and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved by helping with gardening, building upkeep and helping at events.
What does the Wash House offer?
We provide a welcoming meeting place and base for activities for local people, with social, cultural and educational activities for all ages. The Wash House offers a place for people to get involved in local community life. It is a council-owned building but essentially, all activities are run by a volunteer management committee.
We need members’ support to help us ensure that The Wash House continues to grow as a vibrant local resource in the heart of Portobello.
